Introduction 01:14
Do you believe me, in your Cheshire Heart We've been expecting something bizarre No, nothing good comes from going home Your Cheshire Heart won't see how we've grown We've all been sharp Turned to sea glass Do you believe me, how well we'd go You'd build the bridges, I'd look good in the snow Night after night, we'd conform to our beds Day after day, unlearning our heads We've all been sharp Turned to sea glass
Empress 00:39
Seven Sounds 07:26
When you're headed north say goodbye Slept through seven sounds, late to rise She said it was new, it was young Still I shield your eyes from the sun
These walls have seen my changes of mind More than sums of their parts Forest floor, covered path Don't fall asleep here This place is not for you
Come friend Forests aren't for fighting Come friend Films aren't for sleeping You used to get to me Now I'm too distracted Conversation's easy When it's echoes refracted You won't steal the night anymore Who's to say what's normal Brother, sister Born to be scared Hold their own hands Through this nightmare I'm connected over a wall I've been my own rock when I fall Prayers and mantras alive in your heart Echo chambers an end and a start Prayers and mantras tell lies in your heart Victims of evolution we are I'm connected over a wall I've been my own rock when I fall
Epoche 01:01
Mythologies 04:11
Birds and liars live in fear And you and I, willing outsiders Can see it all from here And what's wrong with wanting this Take you time Bummin round the wild pacific The happy amateur Contentment is power and knowledge is fear Our mythologies aren't for you You tell me if I have use Words flow out like tears I wish you'd seen Pieces of flesh that might hurt me Are taken off by alchemists And sent to their autopsies We're all lined up like ants, like atoms We make sense Birds fly out in fear I wish belonged to me
Save it up There it's night

"This music for me ties into memories of my childhood. I think my parents liked plants more than people, but that meant we always lived in these really beautiful faraway places - like Belmore Falls, a rainforest-like place way out in a national park.

It was the most beautiful untouched place where you could walk to these amazing waterfalls and bits of forest that nobody else knew about or ever went near. My childhood was so quiet, and I was surrounded by nature and beauty. It was a really introspective time in my life that I’ll probably never have again, as I’d never isolate myself that much by choice.

It intrigues me to think about that mood, and that place, and when I write music it often takes me back there. It’s a really magical feeling to bring some past time or place back into the now, make a memory real again through music and sound. I like the idea that I’ve built my own little world on this album, and I hope people listening can discover that world and maybe that helps them make sense of things in their own life.

The album is also about wanting to challenge the everyday patterns and expectations that are put on us by society and sometimes by the people in our lives. I want to invite adventurousness or even a kind of defiance - a confidence to break out of expectations and do or be something different"
